John C. Mascaro Jr.
President & CEO

John began his career in the field and joined Mascaro full‑time after earning his civil engineering degree from Ohio University. He became president and CEO in 2008 and has led the company to sustained growth and national recognition. John is active in regional labor leadership and supports numerous community and charitable organizations.

Jeffrey M. Mascaro, LEED^® AP
Executive Vice President & COO

Jeffrey began his career in the field in 1989 and has worked in roles across operations and estimating before becoming executive vice president and chief operating officer in 2006. He oversees Mascaro’s accounting and legal functions and supports construction operations and corporate services. A graduate of the University of Pittsburgh with degrees in civil and environmental engineering and construction management, Jeffrey remains active with the university’s engineering programs and regional nonprofit organizations.

Michael R. Mascaro
Executive Vice President & CCO

Michael helps guide Mascaro’s corporate strategy and leads the company’s IT, human resources, wellness, marketing, and business development functions. He began his career in estimating and field engineering after graduating from Washington & Jefferson College and now serves on several regional boards, including the Master Builders’ Association of Western Pennsylvania, the National Aviary, and the Heinz History Center.

John S. Guna, Jr.
Chief Financial Officer

John oversees all financial operations for Mascaro, including banking, bonding, insurance, and financial reporting. His domestic and international experience, along with a background in business valuation, mergers and acquisitions, and commercial real estate, informs his leadership in the organization.

Ronald J. Cortes, LEED^®AP
Vice President, Buildings

Ron has extensive estimating and operations experience across commercial, federal, and institutional markets and has led multi‑million‑dollar projects nationwide. As vice president of the building division, he guides his project teams with clear expectations, fosters collaboration and innovation and sets practical goals that support consistent project success.

Robert C. Breisinger
Vice President, Heavy/Industrial

Bob leads Mascaro’s Heavy/Highway & Industrial division, overseeing business development, estimating, and operations for major heavy and industrial projects. With deep experience across the construction process and a career spanning roles from project manager to vice president, he brings strong leadership, problem‑solving ability and a collaborative approach that motivates his teams and supports successful project delivery.

Richard T. Bowers
Director of Health, Safety & Environmental

Rick is a veteran safety professional who leads Mascaro’s safety program and works closely with supervisors and field crews to strengthen processes, training, and the company’s commitment to “Zero Incidents.” With extensive experience in industrial and construction safety, he brings a hands‑on, collaborative approach that supports a strong safety culture and reinforces Mascaro’s “build with the best” values.

Ted Kartofilis, PE
Director of Quality & Project Controls

Ted oversees Mascaro’s quality and project controls functions, drawing on more than three decades of experience across virtually every aspect of construction. A Carnegie Mellon University civil engineering graduate and licensed professional engineer, he has held leadership roles in field engineering, project management, estimating, safety, quality, and operations. His diverse background, including experience as a consulting engineer and expert witness, brings valuable insight to project execution, quality assurance, and process improvement throughout the organization.

Jamie Gildersleeve
Director of Human Resources

Jamie leads Mascaro’s human resources strategy, overseeing talent management, organizational development, succession planning and performance initiatives that support long-term goals. With experience across construction, manufacturing and banking, she brings a strong operational background and a proven ability to improve processes, strengthen organizations and drive results.

Gretchen L. Mummert
Document Control & Small Business Specialist

Gretchen supports Mascaro’s estimating and pursuit efforts by coordinating bid responses, managing small business information and building strong relationships with agencies, subcontractors and clients. With experience in small business programs, federal regulations and industry outreach, she helps expand MWDBE engagement, supports contractor development initiatives and strengthens connections across the region.
